The starting point was a concrete slab with a drying rack on it, used roughly twice a year and mostly for storage.

The budget was deliberately tight, and every item had to justify itself against the question of whether it would survive a winter outdoors.

Interlocking deck tiles went down first and did more for the space than anything else, hiding the concrete and warming the whole view.
